  • Cover of the 1984 book 'John Travolta: Staying Fit!' A young John Travolta sits in a black sleeveless leotard, chin resting on one hand, gazing at the camera. Blue and cream cover text reads 'Staying Fit! His complete program for reshaping your body through weight resistance training and modern dance techniques.'
    John Travolta: Staying Fit!

  • A bright yellow figurine of a dachshund whose body is a banana, with little ears and a goofy snout, standing on a black grid surface in front of a green basket stuffed with prescription pill bottles and a honey-colored bottle.
    Banana Dog

My mascot this round. I don't know why, but a week or so ago I simply had to have him. He's goofy and useless and something about him just spoke to me. He is me during this recovery: a weird little yellow thing standing guard over a basket of pill bottles. Sometimes you need a mindless trinket to think about instead of your foot.

  • Two soft, stretchy sand-filled banana dog toys; yellow banana-shaped bodies with little dog faces, sitting side by side.
    Two Sand-Filled Stretchy Banana Dogs

The Banana Dog situation has escalated. These ones are stretchy. They're bananas. They are dogs. And there are TWO OF THEM. These gems are made of thin rubber and tightly packed sand. They don't snap back into shape but ngl, I don't hate that.
