About this journal
I'm charting my recovery from a foot reconstruction (osteotomies, FDL tendon transfer, spring ligament repair, plus a hammertoe correction). I've had the same surgery on the other foot, so I know the road. When I went looking for an honest, day-by-day account of what it's actually like, I couldn't find one. So I'm writing it.
Each entry pairs the real story with structured details — pain, weight-bearing status, what I did for it, the wins, the setbacks — so you can scan for exactly what you're looking for or read the whole thing in order.
A note on the medical stuff
Everything on this site is my personal experience recovering from one specific surgery, in one specific body: mine. It is not medical advice, and I am not a doctor. What worked or didn't work for me may not apply to you.
That goes double for anything I mention about medications, peptides, supplements, or exercises. I share my protocols because that's exactly the kind of detail I wished I could find, but listing them here is not a recommendation or endorsement. Some of them (peptides in particular) are not FDA-approved for this use. Please do not start, stop, or change anything based on my journal. Talk to your own surgeon, physician, or pharmacist first.
Recovery timelines vary enormously. If something feels wrong with your own recovery, call your care team. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
