These Boots Are Made for Walkin'

I am free of the bitchsticks! Or at least, mostly. The weekend errand and breakfast run still required them, but I’m able to hobble around the house without them, and wow does it feel so good.
Sort of.
The boot is heavy and it (obviously) has no give, so the walk is a bit of a “sideways stomp,” and my lower back and the knee on the boot side definitely feel it. So while I am free of the crutches, the ability to walk without issue and keep my other body parts happy is limited.
This means more stretching, more standing, and more emphasis on fixing the kinks instead of covering them up with my beloved NSAIDs. I’ve added new stretches to my morning routine, and I’ve started standing more at my desk. I also am absolutely required to wear a shoe with a very large stack height on the other foot, because there is about an inch and a half of difference between the boot leg and the non-boot leg. Trying to get up in the middle of the night and walk to the bathroom sans thick-soled flip flop is a chore.
But the crutches are gone.
The progress continues.
The physical therapy starts soon.
