I'm So Tired

Today’s entry is going to be short, because I’m about to pass out. I am TIRED. Tired.
Day 7 was my return to work, and I came back to a wall of meetings and emails and messages and all the things. And honestly? It was nice. It felt good to be back in my little work world, plugged in, useful, part of something moving. My body and brain, on the other hand, probably weren’t ready for a full day of it.
It didn’t help that the night set me up to fail. Last night I decided to sleep in my actual bed for the first time instead of the couch, and that might’ve been a mistake. The pillow I propped my leg on clearly didn’t hold up its end of the bargain, because for the first time in this whole recovery I woke up with my foot and ankle really, really painful, probably swollen from not being elevated high enough. My sleep suffered accordingly.
So the day looked like this: back on the couch, typing from my lap for hours. A whole workday of it, actually, which is something no one at 51 should do for a few hours, much less an entire day. I’ve got to figure out a better setup. But perhaps I’ll put that off until… tomorrow.
For now: foot up, lights out. I’m so tired, I haven’t slept a wink. Let’s fix at least one of those tonight.
- Survived the first day back at work: meetings, emails, messages, all the things
- It genuinely felt good to be back in my little work world, even if my body disagreed
- Identified the overnight culprit (a pillow that didn't hold up its end of the bargain) before it becomes a pattern
